Denis Onyango Announced as TUYFL Ambassador

Johannesburg, South Africa, November 29th 2019: TapIn Uganda is thrilled to announce the signing of world-renowned goalkeeper Denis Onyango, as its new Brand Ambassador. The African goalkeeping sensation will be featured in a new integrated campaign for TapIn Uganda which will run across TV, print and online channels rolling out from December 2019.

Star of African Football

Having begun his career in Uganda, Onyango went on to play in the South African Premier Soccer League with Supersport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, and Mamelodi Sundowns. With Mamelodi Sundowns, he won the 2016 CAF Champions League and took part in the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup. He was named the 2016 African-based African Player of the year. He was also ranked as the tenth best goalkeeper in the world in list for 2016 compiled by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics. He has captained the Uganda Cranes at the 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Onyango has also been shortlisted for 2019 CAF African player of the year alongside other global stars like Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed Salah. He is also shortlisted for African Interclub player of the year 2019. He has been one of the most valuable players in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League since 2016 and off the pitch, Denis likes to work with children and donates and volunteers to various charity causes.

I will support each child in the league with goalkeeping capability, with gloves,” said Onyango.

TapIn Uganda Youth Football League (TUYFL) 

The TapIn Uganda Youth Football League (TUYFL) is Uganda’s first nationally based youth league. Supported by  Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), and Uganda Youth Football Association , the league enables players, coaches, and teams to compete in local 8 team bracket divisions for U6 to U16 competition. 

The TUYFL is poised to start in February 2020 with team sign up already in progress through the revolutionary TapIn League Management App.  The Enterprise League Platform is the first of its kind, end – to – end solution that handles all aspects of league organization and administration and enables the self-management and organization of sports leagues.
